There has been much discussion in regards to the fabulous (yes, I love it) Christian Siriano gown that Christina Hendricks wore to the Golden Globes. Not only did it showcase her fabulous body, the pale peach colour was perfect for her skin tone. I just can’t believe what New York Time’s fashion critic Cathy Horyn said:
“You don’t put a big girl in a big dress. That’s rule number one” – Cathy Horyn
That rule is not in my rule book! I say, wear the big dress and look fabulous doing it!
Christina Hendricks’ husband, Geoffrey Arend, added to the debate, “I was just upset about the whole Golden Globes dress thing. I thought she looked so gorgeous… It’s so ridiculous.” “What was nice was seeing the entire internet come after that blogger.” “Honestly, she’s the greatest woman I know. She’s the most beautiful woman I know. She’s the most talented woman I know. It’s like there’s not enough adjectives that could express or superlatives that could express how wonderful she is.”
I have such a soft spot for a husband that stands up for his wife!! You rock Geoffrey Arend.
I am finding more and more that the dresses that are worn down the red carpet are becoming safer and safer. I miss the days when Bjork would walk down the red carpet in her swan dress. High fashion is meant to push the envelope, if you go safe too often you will soon end up being dull. Fashion is not meant to be dull.
Christina, if your reading this keep it up! We want more!
And for the record, there is nothing wrong with putting a curvy girl in ruffles. Viva la Ruffle!!
