Everything is coming up plus sizes!! The rumor mill is boiling over comments made by talented London-based designer Mary Katrantzou who may be looking to expand her size range up to a size 16, for sale on one of my personal favorite websites – Net-A-Porter. 

Mary Katrantzou stated that Net-A-Porter requested that she “go bigger”:

“I was looking at a size 14 woman wearing our dress and I thought, ‘I can’t believe we don’t go bigger than that size!’ because she looked tiny,” she told the paper. She also made an interesting point about offering plus sizes online: “I buy online–I think as a bigger size, you feel more comfortable trying things at home.”

She is smart to mention that print size and placement, increased fabric costs and techical design will have to change when she increases her size range. I am happy to see she realizes that these edits are a must! It starts with one and the rest will follow! I really hope this is not just a rumor and we would love to buy her pieces.
