In response to American Apparel’s XL model search, Nancy Upton felt she needed to make a point. So she did, and started the Tumblr page Extra Wiggle Room to share her thoughts and views. Nancy says, “I started a tumblr about how offensive this American Apparel contest is/as an excuse to cover myself in dressing.” She is currently in second place with a collection of photo’s featuring her indulging in high calorie foods while showing off her curvy figure and stating “I’m a size 12, and I can’t stop eating.”

First, let me say that I was annoyed that American Apparel thinks it’s doing plus sized consumers a favor by adding XL sizes. So what, now a toddler can shop there? Please.
Also, I personally do not think Nancy Upton’s pictures are provocative or groundbreaking. Just my 2 cents.
