Retouching to ADD Weight?

Healthy Magazine has taken a very different turn in the recent airbrushing debates.  As celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, and Jessica Alba, have all been airbrushed to be slimmer, Healthy Magazine has airbrushed to add weight. Yes, add! The magazine editor, Jane Druker, claims that the model came to the photoshoot slimmer then she was at the casting. As Healthy Magazine wants to promote a healthy image, they added some curves to model Kamilla Wladyka to make her look “healthier”.

What do you think of this retouching?

I hate this. I hate retouching being used to completely alter someone’s body shape. Between making women slimmer and making women fatter (Brigitte magazine also admitted they did this before they implemented their ‘no models’ policy), society’s female ideal is getting narrower and narrower. Apparently women are only healthy and beautiful when they’re a(n Australian) size 8 to 10. If you’re over, you’re promoting obesity. If you’re under, you’re promoting eating disorders.
