
It has been a sad time in the fashion world with the recent passing of Alexander McQueen.
Alexander McQueen is considered one of the creative geniuses of our time in the fashion industry. His designs as well as his fashion shows were always outrageous. In tribute to him, we will pay respect to some of the big moments in his amazing career.
Alexander McQueen was discovered by Isabella Blow. Blow was an eclectic fashion industry insider who also discovered the milliner Philip Treacy and would be frequently seen in his flamboyant hats.

In the 1999 Spring Summer Alexander McQueen show, Model Shalom Harlow twirling on a turntable as she was spray-painted by a robotic arm.

Alexander McQueen was known for some more controversial shows that pushed fashion boundaries. This was seen in McQueen’s 2006 show which was called “Highland Rape”.

Bumster Trousers! McQueen invented the low cut pants in 2006 that then spanned a massive trend of low rise jeans.

McQueen partnered with Target for a diffusion line called McQ.

McQueen’s Fall 2009 line showed women with sex-doll lips and theatrical costumes. Another line that pushed the fashion industry when so many people were playing it safe.

Spring 2010 Collection- McQueen showed a collection that was expertly done in another worldly way. The stand out piece was the 10-inch stilettos, called The Armadillo aka the Alien Shoe. Lady Gaga was quick to don these shoes in her Bad Romance video.

McQueen’s Spring 2010 Ad Campaign features model Raquel Zimmerman wrapped in snakes and wearing the otherworldly Alien Shoes. The campaign was shot by Nick Knight.

Celebrities that have worn McQueen include Rihanna, Beyonce, Daphne Guiness, and many more.
