After the German magazine, Brigitte, received many complaints over their too boney models, they decided to overhaul their look by using only real women in their fashion editorials. Well, guess what? The first issue is HERE and we are so excited! The issue features real women of various sizes, ages, ethnic backgrounds, and professions. This issue features a 21-year-old hotel receptionist from Capri, a 28-year-old restaurant owner from Hamburg, a 45-year-old Icelandic artist, a 21-year-old economics student, and a 29-year-old teacher.
”It is not a question of them suddenly becoming models,” editor Andreas Lebert told the Independent. “They simply step out of their normal lives for a moment and present fashion for us as personalities.”
As fashion should always be a form of expression, we think what Brigitte is doing is sooo 2010!
Check out Brigitte here! Let us know what you think of the pics!

This is an awesome new development, but Brigitte still have a narrow definition of what size constitutes a ‘real’ woman. They only accept women between a US size 4 and a US size 12 – still unattainable beauty ideals for many readers of Madison Plus, unfortunately.
