Nikki Blonsky and Hayley Hasselhoff are teaming up with ABC Family for a new show called Huge, based off the book Huge by Sasha Paley.  The show is being written by My So-Called Life creator Winnie Holzman and her daughter Savannah Dooley.  It will take place at a weight loss camp named Wellness Canyon, and feature both Nikki and Hayley as girls attempting to come to terms with their weight, frustrating home life and what its like being a regarded as a pretty girl when you had not experienced it before.

As a side story..

Weight loss camp is a subject which is near and dear to me, and it sounds like the story line was taken right out of my life. During my teenage years and early 20′s, I spent many summers at a weight loss camp in California called Camp La Jolla, and I too had to figure out what it was like to be regarded as a pretty girl, and deal with tough situations at home. It was refreshing and an unusual experience to be looked at in that type of light, and it took me a long time to learn how to deal. I was no longer the tall plus size girl amongst my skinny peers, I was a plus size girl around other kids who were living similar experiences to mine. I was not alone in figuring out how to deal with the weight-loss pressures in my life anymore. The show Huge will help in giving this experience to so many girls at home.
