Why did you decide to pursue a career in the modeling industry?

I decided to pursue a career in the modeling industry because I look forward to becoming an influential and positive role model.  I do not view modeling as something that is just “fun to do”.  Modeling is my passion!  I can relate to average teenagers, young girls and women, and am confident in my ability to inspire people while doing what I love.  Although I am only 17, I can carry myself in a professional manner that can reflect positively on myself as the agency I represent.   I am also very willing to take any suggestions to succeed in this business.

What was the experience like of being part of Tyra’s fiercely real teen model competition? Why did you decide to enter?

My experience on The Tyra Banks Show was the experience of a lifetime!! The entire experience was surreal.   I learned a lot, particularly – patience, focus, and professionalism.   It allowed me to jump right into the modeling industry!  I truly embraced every moment of it. From the photo shoots and interviews, to the hair and makeup backstage, it was truly inspiring.  It was truly a humbling experience to be around so many influential people in the industry. I will forever cherish the time spent with the five other girls who have shared these similar experiences.   I am forever grateful for the experience!

I really appreciated and respected the overall message of the competition and representing Tyra’s Beauty Inside and Out Campaign was an honor.  I felt that I embodied the total message. Someone who is comfortable and confident with who they are – inside & out -and can be a role model for teens everywhere.

Define your personal style? Must have item in your closet?

My personal style is classic, trendy, girly… with a twist.

Must have items: Dark denim, dresses, leather bomber

What is your dream photo-shoot? anyone you would love to work for?

My dream photo-shoot is in Europe, particularly Italy.  A shoot in the city and in the countryside – being able to successfully embrace both genres would be a thrill.

I would love to work for a designer or company that usually only features straight (skinny) models – particularly commercial ads like Gap, Banana Republic, J Crew.  Plus I would love to work for Torrid, Faith 21, to even higher end fashion such as Burberry, Roberto Cavalli, Diane Von Furstenburg, etc… to only name a few!

What does Madison Plus mean to you?

Madison Plus represents the beautiful woman in all of us.  Not only is it a positive influence, but it gives a sense of serenity that the fiercely real sized women out there can be beautiful, trendy, and sexy. Madison Plus is where it’s at – intriguing articles, interesting links, and stunning photos!  Pure success for real women. Teens and women need more positive media influences to keep telling them that they can be and are beautiful – inside and out!
