Have you been wondering who this Madison Plus is, well my name is Aimee – if you want to learn even more about me click here – and I would like to show you why I am the person to go to for real size and plus size fashion. I have lived in both worlds and like to believe I have a foot in each. I hope to make this a weekly event where I show you what I am wearing and tell you why. My goal is to teach everyone how to work with the size you currently are vs. forcing yourself to be something you’re not.

Lets’ start from the bottom up.
My Boots
These boots are the newest addition to my wardrobe; I have been on a long search for a flat basic black boot. What I love with them is that they are comfortable, low heel, beautiful soft leather and work easily with any outfit and they work with my larger than average sized calf; and yes, I know my calf circumference measurement. It makes it quick and easy to decide if it’s worth for me to try the boots on.
I bought these at one of my favorite online stores The Outnet. I have size 11 feet and it is never easy going to a store and finding size 11. I swear there is a woman out there who goes into every store before me and gets my size before I have the chance to buy it. So needless to say I go online first to find my size. Get the look here.
My Jeans
Paige Premium Denim – Paige denim is the perfect fit for me, it took me a long time to find out which brand works with my body. I tried on enough jeans to last me a lifetime but now that I’ve done that research it makes it a lot easier when shopping.
I like a mid rise jean, no Britney Spears style for me. I like my rise to be between 8- 9”, your rise is measured from the base of your crotch to where you want the waistband to sit. I find if its too low I get tummy overflow aka “muffin top”. I also require at least a 34” inseam, this length goes perfectly with flats or a slight heel for me, I buy Paige tall denim for when I wear heals. Paige denim also goes from size 23-34, which is higher than most premium denim lines. Here is a similar pair to mine from Lane Bryant.
Knit Tee
This tee is by a brand Eight Sixty, I bought it this past spring in Lord and Taylor, it was a pretty random buy and I am happy it worked out. I love the colour, and the draping of the fabric, I find you can hide your little bumps a little better when you have a heavier weight knit and some rouching and draping, and I love the gentle cowl neck that it has as well. Here is a similar style from Evans UK.
My Vest
I found this lace vest at TopShop. I love it because it adds some dimension to the pink top I am wearing and it also makes a spring top look a little bit more fall. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see this lace vest again this fall. Lace is huge for this fall. Check out our Fall Style Guide for more information. I’ve also included a a sequin vest from TopShop, and similar lace version here.
