My main form of exersize is yoga and what I wear my Adora Om pieces for, but they are perfect for so many active activities! Made using high-quality fabrics, each piece is the perfect weight for a plus figure and thoughtfully designed with attention to detail in the workmanship. One of my pet peeves about activewear is when they don’t address the fabric “stretch factor” when your working out. Fabrics tend to thin-out and become more transparent when you’re bent over in a ‘downward dog’, this was not the case with Adora Om, the ladies behind the company have really done their research and truly understand the needs of curvy women.

I am also wearing “My Game Face” top that comes with a shelf bra built-in, although I still needed a sports bra underneath. Most plus women do.  I have to say the mesh paneling is such a smart addition in this top because it allows air to move while your in the yoga studio, keeping you cool and comfortable.

One of my favorite things to do is pull my sweatshirt sleeves down over my hands, which always stretches out the ribbing, so when I put on the “I’m Outta Here” jacket and my thumbs when through the thumbholes I will just over the moon! Not only does it keep your sleeves straight, I find it oddly comforting to have my wrists and palms covered. If this option is not for you then you can just fold the cuffs up. Voila!

Once the temperature started turning cooler the number one accessory on my list was a snood. The need for a snood quickly took over my thoughts and the one thing I knew was that I did not want to pay too much for one. After scouting out Anthropologie I found one I loved but the $300 price tag was a little too much for me to swallow. Luckily, I found one by Echo at a boutique in my neighborhood that had a gorgeous texture and made a statement.

I picked up my oversize blouse on sale at Anthropologie (with a much friendlier price tag of $69), and paired it with a JCrew necklace, vintage boots, River Island jacket and my black Paige denim. Just a perfect look for the office and running around the city.

Avenue held one of the few plus size events in Manhattan and I was having fun from the minute I entered the party!

I was excited to hear that style expert and MP fan Jacqui Stafford was hosting an event with Avenue, featuring a runway show and the lovely Brooke Elliot from Lifetime TV series Drop Dead Diva! I truly enjoyed chatting with both ladies and getting to meet the fabulous star of her groundbreaking tv show. 

Along with Avenue, the event was hosted by Jacqui and Brooke. The runway show featured Avenue’s fall collection full of cozy sweaters, stripes, denim and lots of leopard animal print.

And of course all items are at such a great price point so they are easy for anyone to add to their fall closet.  A bonus is that Avenue’s shoe collection is amazing and featured a bunch of cute booties in wide widths!

Oh, hothouse flowers, how I was drawn to thee like a moth to a flame….Taking advantage of a beautiful setting while house sitting for a neighbor, I decided it was the perfect backdrop for showcasing my new favorite trend while enjoying a view of Manhattan on a gorgeous summer day.

I went into Zara to return a previous purchase and ended up making an exchange–An experience I bet you’re familiar with. I just love this jacket! Zara is featuring so many bold, bright and beautiful prints for their blazers right now but this particular location had only one in XL and now it’s mine! Right next to the jacket I found the perfect pair of shorts to keep me cool in this weather and to help satisfy my need for brights.

I went with a basic white ribbed tank underneath to keep the jacket and shorts as the main focus. Then I layered on some lipstick from Nars, of course! I accessorized this look with pieces from Forever 21. I often just run in there and buy every accessory that catches my eye. If I wear it, great and if I don’t it’s not a huge hit to the wallet.

I finished the ensemble off with my favorite brown leather belt from Argentina. To this day I am still regretting that I didn’t buy more leather while I was there!

Do not adjust your computer screens. Yes, I am wearing a side pony tail for the first time in 15 years! I’ve been growing my hair out and am quickly discovering just how limited my knowledge is when it comes to wearing up-do’s. Next week I’ll be attempting…drumroll please…the French braid!

I am wearing, as my American friends like to call it, a Canadian Tuxedo. Double denim is a hot ticket in fashion these days and any Canadian would be proud to wear this outfit. My chambray top is from J.Crew, with a rolled sleeve and a rolled hem to add some skin into the mix, again paired with a white ribbed tank. I have a huge selection of these tanks. They are easy, inexpensive and have a perfect neckline for a busty lady.

This “Aimee’s Look” was a golden (or shall I say crimson) opportunity to start breaking in a new pair of YSL patent red leather shoes so they will be perfectly comfortable for the fall.  Well, as much as 5 inch heels can be called comfortable….

My quirky, fun scarf, aptly named “Cock N’ Balls”, is by Loquita who has such a creative collection of oversized silk scarves.  I found Loquita designs through my first purchase from Moda Operandi, Lauren Santo Domingo’s new website. While I love my scarf, I was a bit disappointed with the lackluster packaging. Call me crazy but when I drop some serious bank on a product I want it wrapped up in a pretty package. What can I say? Net-A-Porter has spoiled me….

It’s the time of year when I really start craving fall fashion but the temps are still warm so what to do? Get creative and mix in some closet favs (tees, jeans, etc) with some of the summers most colorful pieces. Start with bright red denim (one of the hottest trends for fall) and play with primary colours and small bits of green in your jewelry. Finish it off with a neutral sandal or pump for easy, it-girl style.

I recommend pieces that skim over your body and don’t cling, pick a color you love (mine is pink) and keep accessories simple. Less is more when the heat is on.

Nicolette Mason caught me on a jaunt though the Meatpacking District the other day, I got to enjoy some drinks with both her and Gabi Gregg. I made the rookie mistake of wearing stilettos in a neighborhood know for its cobblestone streets. I should of known better but the heart wants what the heart wants…and mine wanted to wear these heels! At least my tank and cuffed jeans were the epitome of comfort on a warm Manhattan afternoon.

The hoop earrings seem to be making regular appearance in my look.

My new J. Crew purse has been a fun addition to the rotation. It adds a great pop of colour, bringing my casual outfit to life. I love this ensemble because it’s easy and casual without lacking an ounce of cool.

After I was done with my victory dance in the changing room (they fit and I love them), I started planning my look for the next day giving me an opportunity to pair them up with some older pieces in my closet. Boyfriend jeans paired with a tee, and feminine touches like my shoes and ruffle jacket that I got from Re/Dress last year, make for an incredibly easy outfit that is comfortable but still polished.

My shoes are new as well and I had been craving a wedge with brown leather straps and I didn’t realize it before I went shopping for these shoes but I had difficulty finding the right shade of brown not all shades match my skin tone. I am pretty sure you will be seeing me in these shoes a lot this spring and summer. and gives me the chance to show off my nail polish of the moment – green!

What would you pair with your green nail?

My mind overflowed with ideas on how to style this dress, and this look is probably the most straightforward of them all. It was a busy day at MP and I just wanted a look that didn’t get in my way but was still fun and polished. I added my statement wedges and two-tone Anthropologie necklace.

I am also trying out the hot new neutral nail polish – Green!

What I love about Stefanie’s designs is that they are easy to wear and this dress is perfect for all the plus figures out there due to the elastic waist band. Elastic is not always a bad a thing! I will be sure to feature this dress again in the near future but styled and remixed in a new way so you can see how versatile it truly is.
