Jennifer Hudson was at Brooks & Dunn’s “Last Rodeo Show” at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand recently. Hudson joined the group that included Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. She looked perfect for the occasion with a loose fitting blouse, jeans, over-the-knee boots, and a form fitting vest to pull it all together. She is casual yet put together at the same time!

The 2010 Oscar’s brought out the hottest celebrities who stayed out late to celebrate their accomplishments at the after parties. The two hottest after parties were Elton Johns’ after party and Vanity Fair’s.

My two favorite celebrity looks from the after parties was Christina Hendricks and Jennifer Hudson. They both looked phenomenal!

Jennifer Hudson joined fellow stars to volunteer their voices to a new recording of “We Are the World”, a song that will benefit Haiti.  The premier of the single will take place February 12th at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Jennifer Hudson, who looked stunning at the Grammy’s, continues to look stylish and pulled together at the recording studio. This is an easy look to emulate too! Jennifer Hudson was wearing a stylish double breasted jacket at rehearsals for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards which will be tonight at 8pm on CBS.  Hudson will perform a Michael Jackson tribute with Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson, and Usher.  The tribute will also include a premiere of MJ’s “Earth Song” mini-movie in 3-D.

Beth Ditto is the lead singer of the band “Gossip”. One thing that we love about Ditto is she is not afraid to put her outlandish style out there. Her fashion sense has led her to a friendship with Kate Moss and a line for Evans UK.

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson has had some of the highest and lowest points in her life this year. The highest being the birth of her new son, David Otunga Jr. This joy and her resilient spirit radiates in her stunning looks she has chosen for the red carpet.

Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah has been in the spotlight for 20 years and still continues to shine. This year she released her fragrance, “Queen” exclusively for Macy’s and just released her album “Persona”. I love the dramatic long gowns she has been donning this year.

Christina Hendricks

Christina Hendricks has had a wonderful year professional and personally. Personally, Hendricks got married to Geoffrey Arend at Il Buco restaurant in New York City. Professionally, she has been a star on the AMC TV show Mad Men as the sexy and voluptuous secretary. We have to say, here at MP we definitely have a girl crush on Hendricks and are wowed by her curves!

Gabby Sidibie

Gabourey “Gabby” Sidibie has had a breakout year in 2009 with the release of her the movie “Precious”. Oscar buzz has been swirling due to her and Monique’s amazing performances. Gabby has also stepped into the limelight with her fashion scene. For the red carpet, Gabby tends to lean towards gowns in vibrant colors. In her free time, Gabby can be seen in a lot of clothing from the plus size retailer Torrid.

America Ferrera

America Ferrera has proved that, while she plays an Ugly Betty on TV, she is no Ugly Betty in real life. Ferrera has been wearing dramatically beautiful gowns on the red carpet and great cocktail dresses for social events. Her style has evolved wonderfully in the past year!

Gabi

As many New Yorkers, Crystal Renn wear mostly black, but is an expert at layering different textures and silhouettes together.

Whitney Thompson

Whitney Thompson has been finding her own fame away from America’s Next Top Model this year. She has recently launched her own scented candles and a jewelry lines on top of her modeling. Whitney leans towards curve enhancing cocktail dresses for events and dark denim, heels, and a jacket for going out. Looking forward to seeing more from this rising star in the next year!

Raven Symone

Raven Symone has been a Maddie + favorite for us at MP. Raven starred in Chris Rock’s documentary “Good Hair” and also lent her voice to the Disney’s Tinker Bell Franchise. Raven has shown us how to rock our curves in 2009!

Just watched Jennifer Hudson’s Christmas special on ABC and I loved how she took us around the neighborhoods which she grew up in. The tour was a nice touch and I really got a warm vibe from watching it. Of course her singing was fabulous and her duet with Micheal Buble was beautiful. It allowed for a nice evening of putting my feet up and chillin out with the hubby.

Jennifer Hudson will be performing Monday, December 14 at 8pm on ABC, be sure to catch it!

What makes this so special is that JHud is singing at the church where she got her start in the church choir and the music academy where she studied.  Talk about coming full circle.

“The first thing you do for the holidays is go back home, so I went back home, and the next thing you do is spend it with all of your family and your friends in those familiar places. That’s why I chose to go back home and share it and make it personal,” Hudson said.

I am sure it will be a total surreal experience for her, going back where she started.  I am really excited to watch her do her thing!

Jennifer Hudson performed at the White House state dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.  This is the second time that Hudson has had the honor of performing for President Barack Obama.  Check out the video below for a short interview with Hudson (at the 1:45 mark).

Jennifer Hudson is set to play Winnie Mandela, the former wife of South Africa’s first black president, Nelson Mandela in the film Winnie.  Hudson is “honored” to play the role of Winnie Mandela as she “is a complex and extraordinary woman”.  The movie will begin production in May in South Africa.  Part of the movie will be shot at the prison where Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years in prison.

Hudson has also starred in “The Secret Life of Bees”, “Sex and the City”, and “Dreamgirls” where she won an Oscar.

Just two months ago, Jennifer Hudson had her little baby boy, David Otunga Jr.  Jennifer, who is “loving every minute” of being a mother, is already talking about having more!  “I’d like to have at least one more, a little girl,” Jennifer told Access Hollywood.  “I want a girl and then maybe another one.  You know, one baby at a time.”

Jennifer Hudson is often a shopping inspiration for me when I am shopping with  my ladies.  She knows how to put her own touches to her outfits, specially like this one that she wore for Oprah’s season premiere.  I love the layered jewelry look it adds demention to your outfit and is perfect for your day or night look. Jennifer Hudsons’  look is definitely going in my closet for this season.
