Kiyonna and Monif C. launched a new swimwear collection that we are absolutely loving! Whether you are looking for the old-fashion glamour look, a suit that converts into many options- never letting you get tired of the same look, or a fun and flirty style- between these two swimwear collections you’ll find the perfect swimwear you are looking for!

The Monif C Capri bikini is answering a huge gap in the swimsuit market- the lack of plus size bikini’s which flatter our curvier bodies. Gabi Gregg recently posted about how the bikini worked for her and it will work for you too. The reason why it works is because of the higher waistline, the cut smooths out the area of your tummy that normally causes one to think that its not meant for you. I recently started wearing a bikini myself and this was the main detail I shopped for when I ended up getting an adorable one from ModCloth.

Now that Kiyonna is developing their own swim, too, it just shows that there is a market for good-fitting, stylish plus size swim. I am looking forward to seeing who is next to develop a swim line, who do you want to see do one? My vote is for Anna Scholz.

MP City Style Washington DC: Layering

It has been an increasingly horrible winter here in the DC area. If we’re not dealing with record below temperatures then we have, believe it or not, thunder snowstorms to handle. If it’s not that then we have sleet and ice to slip on. Oh joy! But that shouldn’t stop us fashionista’s from looking good!

Layering is key when trying to have style while providing warmth during colder days. If you’re into the blazer + skirt combo like I am, it’s easy to add some pieces to give yourself the warm, layered look. Under the blazer, wear a sweater. With the skirt, pair it with tights. A nice hat usually ties in an outfit pretty well. Also, it keeps your head and ears warm!

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2011

The 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards was held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (January 30th) in Los Angeles. The red carpet stars doned neutrals (black, white, and nude) as well as more saturated, bold colors. Whether it was a sexy skin-hugging dress or a romantic gown, celebs were loving a little curve appeal. Who were the stars of our best dressed list?

Betty White won a big last night for “Hot in Cleveland” and wore one of our favorite high-end plus designers Rani Zakhem.

The Mad Men ensemble nominee, Christina Hendricks, time travels from the ’60s to the ’70s in a black sequined L’Wren Scott wrap, Judith Leiber clutch and Rene Caovilla peep-toes.

Sofia Vergara brought the sexy in a blue Roberto Cavalli dress.

Kim Kardashian made a plum choice in Marchesa.

Amber Riley in Anne Barge, Report Signature shoes, Chopard jewelry and a Swarovski clutch.

The 27-year-old Black Swan actress, Mila Kunis, chose an Alexander McQueen Resort 2011 strapless chiffon gown and over $300,000 worth of Cartier jewelry.

Mindy Kaling in a Tadashi Shoji gown.

Natalie Portmanin an Azzaro gown, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
