Drew Barrymore is this “straight to plus” out and about promoting her new flick ‘Going The Distance‘ in the utmost of style. For her recent press event she wore a sequined top and flattering pair of pleated trousers.  Trousers are making a huge comeback as a style must have for fall. Drew’s double pleated trousers give her ease of movements and at the same time slim her silhouette. Belting the waist and tucking the shirt in helps to further define her silhouette. She is also sporting one of the latest hair trends of showing off your roots! We loved her look so much we had to translate her look from straight to plus!

I am all about doing the “sexy” look, but I also think a girl always needs to keep it classy. By adding this blazer I am adding a classic look to my outfit while covering up my arms so I am not all skin. A blazer is an essentail piece for any girls closet. This particular blazer is a one button and works perfectly with my apple shaped figure and looks good with this bright pink tunic.  If you have great legs you have to show them off, another reason this tunic works great for me! Remember this type of tunic won’t work for all curvy girls but if you carry your weight around your waistline this is a great way to draw the attention from your tummy to your legs! By far my favorite part of this style is the booties! By having bare legs it lets the booties to not look as heavy. These were an amazing purchase from a Louboutin sale I came across one day. Wearing boots in the spring/summer is a new trend, and with the right choice of boots this can totally work out for a great summer look! Maida looked awesome on the streets of NYC and stood out of the crowd with her great style! We spotted Maida on Fifth Avenue and loved her ripped denim shorts and laced leggings.  The over-sized belt highlighted her waist perfectly and her cat-eyed framed sunglasses were perfect for her!

Since I have a more apple-shaped body I used this wide width belt to help me to create a waist line. The fuchsia off the shoulder tunic is a perfect piece with a bold color and can be easily molded into so many looks. I love different types of textures in my outfits, so adding this lace vest was a great idea paired with a chunky neckalce. Wearing leggings kept the dress from looking too short which is good for the days I don’t want to show off my legs and the quilted black open toe shoes was a perfect way of keeping the look from being to heavy.

How would you style your basic tunic?

I loved how this particular tunic has an extra panel of material on the front which helps to smooth out any lumps or bumps. I do wish there was some extra material in the back as well.  The pleats allow the material to skim over your back, rather than “hugging” it.  The neckline is perfect to wear to work or for those girls who are more comfortable with covering up.  For myself, I would prefer a lower, more open neckline but I could see myself wearing this type of top to an office. I am always a sucker for elbow length sleeves, it give more wear-ability for the entire year and was thrilled to see this tunic had the right arm length for me! As for the actual length of the tunic, I thought it was perfect  and the asymmetrical hem was a nice touch- I would like to see this tunic in the same style but without the fabric tie, fortunately this tie is removable!

The “Cross My Heart Draped Tunic” looks great paired with skinny jeans and leggings or even with a pencil skirt! Here I paired the tunic with my Paige denim jeggings and my fabulous shoes from Sir in Brooklyn. All in all, this was a great item made by IGIGI.
