Comfort yet again! Let me fill you in on a little secret: this skirt is really a SKORT! haha I know brings me back to the 90’s when I was about 7 years old running around in skorts. But seriously, I found this one at goodwill and haven’t gone back. Denim is one of my loves, and this skort has been my companion all summer long!

I had a Faith 21 shopping spree a few days ago at the new Times Square store and put together a rocking outfit. I say “dark” because some will always go black—and never go back, and some girls like more sunshiny colors in their wardrobe that a navy is going to compliment better. ‘One of the best fashion trends going on right now is neon and plaid. This trend is everywhere right now, which makes it so easy to find for any size! Here in the midwest the fashion can range from small home town sweet to big city chic. One of my all time favs would have to be the short sleeve plaid shirt paired with a plain tank that fits nice around your bust and is loose around the tummy. With it being summer time you can pair it with a denim short. I prefer one size bigger than normal so it fits better with this summer heat. You could even pair it with Bermuda shorts, Capri’s or leggings! Shoes are always best with a little height, 1″ or 3″, it always gives your legs a great angle. Open toe is always best paired with your favorite polish. Plus it keeps toes from getting too warm in the bright sun. If heels or pumps aren’t your thing, any open shoe works with this look. Bright flip flops are great to add when you have such a warm colored outfit.  Add some neon accessories to brighten the whole look to give your look some extra zest.  Try out rings, bracelets, earrings or start slow with a cute bow to your hair.

I am truly a  t-shirt and jeans girl at heart so this is a great look for anyone who is the same! The DIY (“do it yourself”) rouching of the shirt is a method of mine I like to do to hide my stomach- making the shirt look more forgiving, and if I am in the mood a little shoulder action is a great way to wear a tunic in this nice weather! Jean shorts are a must for this season! A lighter wash jean always makes for a great summer look and spicing it up with gold accessories make the style looked finished. (My favorites are my ribbon ring and leaf inspired necklace!) Last but not least, I decided upon my gladiator sandals that I have owned for years! In NYC you do a lot of walking so it’s wise to find a good cobbler to take your shoes in to fix them once a year- saving money and making each shoe look brand new year after year! This look is a great and easy one to create!

I met Samantha at the Monif C real woman photoshoot earlier this year. I love her bangs and that was not the only thing that caught my eye. Hey girls –  I’m Carina, a Plus Size model from Cologne, Germany.

When I go to castings I usually do not know what to wear. It has to be something comfortable but also something that’s fashionable, and allows me to stand out.

Most of the time I am very disappointed that almost every shop in Cologne doesn’t have the newest trends but just up to size 10. Therefore, I was even more surprised when I stopped by H&M and found the same trends in the BiB section.

I totally love the jeans and stripes combo. You can wear it casual to your castings and to go shopping with your friends and in the evening you can spice it up with high heels and a rivet belt.
